There’s Peace Amongst The Grassland

There’s peace amongst the grassland where the insects lerk.
Bees pollinating
Ants hard at work.
Run say’s the aphid I’ll be quite blunt.
Here comes the Rangers on a Mini Beast Hunt!

Smile

What has happened?thCAP27YXB
A break in the rain
No more thoughts clouding my mind
Finally I’ve come to a turning point

No more crying myself to sleep
No more smileless days
No more wasting my life
A chance to make the most of these days

Life is short, so make the most of it
You get to pick your arguments
So pick good ones
You choose your mood
So stay happy and smile big

The Good Life

ImageThe sky was clear full of beautiful stars

Whilst the light pollution was seen from afar.

The smell of woodsmoke hung on the evening air

Whilst warm inside the fire viewed, from a nearby chair.

The flames danced all shades of orange, yellow and red

Fire fairies dancing before they too, go to bed.

At last the embers are fading, cover them with ash

Then in the morning it will relight with a dash.

The location tranquil with fields and woods

This is how everyone should live if they could.

Walking the dog in the crisp morning air

Admiring the wind turbines I stand and stare.

They could look like some exotic flowers

As they rotate for hours and hours.

Feel they should be coloured, given a violet hue

Then they would look pretty for me and for you.

The dog enjoys her sniffs trailing around

Then we arrive at a stile how will she get round?

She manages to wriggle her way, through the gap underneath

Well done I say, she smiles, giving me a glimpse of her teeth.

The next stile is built in a different way

I climb over as an example and say,

Come on now you can manage to get through.

She looks, not knowing quite what to do.

Now come through the middle, you are not a bimbo!

She surprised me, she did the perfect limbo!

Head first through the middle, she pushed off with her feet

No doubt by now, wanting to get home to eat.

We manage to play ball seems like most of the day

Perhaps she likes me to come and stay.

Next the chickens need feeding then, when released from their run

They forage in the garden and seem to have fun.  Avoiding the dog who just wants to give them a lick,

By going into the undergrowth peck, peck, pick!

One night one didn’t want to go to bed

I chased it round the garden then into the shed.

They liked to be picked up and given a stroke

In return they lay delicious eggs with a tasty yoke.

I’ve enjoyed my taste of the Good Life, in the fresh air

We should all try to make time to relax, stand and stare.

Tick Tock

clockI’m writing this in a state of shock,
Watching the clock—tick tock, tick tock,
Advancing, approaching, relentlessly,
A brand new year; Oh, can it be?

The calendar says the same thing, too;
Time races, vanishes for me; Boo hoo!
No, wait! If time flies, I’m having fun!
A year of fun! It’s gone! It’s done!

I now embrace the blur of time,
Because it simply means that I’m
Too busy with pleasure, joy, delight
To mourn the passing days’ swift flight.

So I’m wishing you fast, happy days,
Pleasuring you in myriad ways,
Filled with happiness and cheer,
Oh Happy, Happy Bright New Year!

Happy New Year To You

Happy New Year to you!
May every great new day
Bring you sweet surprises
A happiness buffet.

Happy New Year to you,
And when the new year’s done,
May the next year be even better,
Full of pleasure, joy and fun.
